The Lighthouse are proud to announce a partnership with Plastic Oceans UK as their charity partner, committing a fixed contribution from every sale to assist tackling plastic waste in our seas and oceans.
The world manufactures over 300 tonnes of plastic every year. Half of this is for single use before being thrown away, and recent studies have projected that by 2050 there could be more plastic in the ocean, by weight, than fish.
To put this problem into perspective; every minute the equivalent of another garbage truckload of plastic enters the water globally.
Plastic Oceans is an organisation committed to stopping plastic pollution reaching our seas and oceans within a generation. They raise awareness and educate on best practice for reducing plastic waste, as well as organising activities aimed at reducing our plastic footprint to prevent it getting into our
waters and food chain.
